Everyone should know about this

Hey everyone. I haven't updated in a while, and I don't actually have time to be updating now but this is too important for me to not tell everyone about.

There is a piece of legislation called the "Freedom of Choice Act" (if you could see me you'd see me adding air quotes around "Choice") which, if passed, will establish abortion as one of US citizens' fundamental rights (you know, like free speech and voting) and will override any and all laws providing restrictions on abortions, such as religiously-affiliated hospitals refusing to perform abortions, not allowing tax dollars to support abortions, etc.

This act is so radical I can barely comprehend it. Not to mention hypocritical. Apparently supporting "choice" doesn't include allowing people to choose NOT to support abortion.

Im rather Confused here ,Are yu asking us to sign this bc we are Pro Life & Against Pro Choice,Or B Bc It ISNT PROLIFE ??

I know we havent spoken in a long time since I am no longer with Fanbolt..so Im not Offended BUT I AM PRO CHOICE & voted for Obama & Think That everyone should have a choice & pro lifers wonna impose morals on people......BUT I am confused that You say Prolife dont have an air quote CHOICE.I come on Lj to not get into political & religious arguments.......so Dont be offended that I removed you OK.Im srry but I dont wonna argue my Choices .......

It's ok. I want people to sign this petition because it goes far beyond, in my eyes, what "Pro-Choice" means. Making it illegal for Catholic hospitals or other hospitals owned by groups which oppose abortion is against THEIR choice to not support abortion. Using tax dollars to fund abortion is against every pro-life taxpayer's choice to not support abortion.

I try to not use my journal to persuade people, usually just to express my opinions, but this one I feel is too important for me to not urge everyone I can to vote against it.

I'm not offended you removed me, I know this is a very hot topic and it cn cause severe rifts in relationships.

Ahhhh this act is so ridiculously awful it makes me want to dieeeee, it goes so far beyond anything even remotely sane, it makes me not want to get a job because then my income tax will pay to kill babies arrghhhh.

I so understand. Hopefully we can end this as quickly as possible because it is really just ridiculous how radically pro-abortion it is. It's not pro-choice anymore, it is straight-up pro-abortion.

Thanks for sharing. It took me a while to finish it 'cuz i was checking out the links and stuff and, wow. I knew Barack was very supportive of abortion but I had no idea just HOW much he supported it, and I really can't believe there are actually pro-lifers who believed him.

I read up on it and then decided to sign it.

Oh, and Steph said she sent you an article on it...Is there any way, if you have time, that you could send it to me? I read a few other articles on it along with what it actually entails, but I'd like to read more....Thank you :)
