Massive Post of Massiveness for the Extended Period of Silent Silence
Like the repetitively redundant title? I do. :)
Anyway, let's recap how things have been going lately in my life. I believe my last post was about my car being hit by the hit-and-run. Well, the car was fixed but the culprit was never caught. :( It seemed like it ought to have been so easy to catch this person since there was a witness, a camera on that corner, and a piece of their car left behind, but apparently not. The police said there were no license plates matching the numbers the witness remembered so that was out, and the Mercyhurst Police and Safety reviewed the tape from the camera but said it wasn't able to make out any details. (So I'm just thinking: 'Ok, you have a security camera that takes video of too low quality to see a license plate? What good is it then? I highly doubt it has any help in identifying facial features either if someone were to be assaulted if it can't make out a license plate')
Well after that I was driving home from the grocery store one day and suddenly (like within a matter of seconds) my power steering went out, the engine overheated, the the lights for low oil, low battery, and check engine all came on. I managed to get back to campus, thankfully. I eventually had it towed to a local auto shop and got it taken care of. Turned out the serpentine belt hadd broken and apparently that's pretty important.
And now? Now for some reason my car keeps overheating. Like every 10-20 minutes. The "Low Coolant" light indiscrimantly turns on and off but when I check the levels they're always fine, so that can't be the problem. The only thing I can think of is that something might be blocking the coolant from getting to the engine which may be because I put water in it from Lake Erie because when the coolant light first came on I was at the lake and had nothing else to put in it. The manual says to use only "clean, drinkable water" so perhaps the little micro-organisms in the lake water cooked up and clogged my car's arteries? I don't know, because really, I know nothing about cars.
Well that's the crap that's been going on, so how about some good news, eh?
On Saturday, Spetember 5, I went to my first concert ever! It wasn't anything big but I was incredibly excited.
The concert was in Syracuse at the New York State Fair and it starred Drew Seeley!! ...you don't know who that is? Shame on you! Well no, he's not extremely well-known but he did Zac Efron's singing in the first High School Musical film and played Troy in the concert tour with the rest of the film cast. He's becoming more popular by doing some small movie work as well as making his Broadway debut this past summer as Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid. He was also in the original out-of-town tryout for Showboat when he was a kid but sadly wasn't able to follow it to Broadway with the rest of the cast because he had gotten too tall for the role.
Well most of my friends here at the 'Hurst also love HSM so we were incredibly excited that we could see him in concert and we took a road trip to NY and spent the weekend at our friend Clare's house because she lives about twenty minutes from Syracuse. The concert was awesome. Drew is a great performer and really sweet to his fans, he waited after the show for at least 45 minutes (judging by the length of the line) to sign autographs and take pictures with everyone.
The fair was loads of fun too. It was the hugest I've ever seen, though I don't really have anything to compare it to since the only carnivals I've been to have been church carnivals or small-town heritage festivals. I won some iPod speakers from a Geico booth and a fish from a ball toss game. I didn't keep it though and gave it to a little boy who didn't win, since I would have had no way of keeping it until I got home (plus I have lousy luck with fish. I think they must know I'm a cat person and just die from my presence) I also got a ginormous turkey leg that lasted for about three days. :D
I think that's about everything. Oh! Except that everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE should be watching Glee! It's hilarious, each episode is almost like a mini musical, the main cast is extremely talented, and the guest stars (Victor Garber, Josh Groban, KRISTIN CHENOWETH) are amazing!
